some stuff

i decided to give you all a brief update on some stuff that's going on in the Horrocks household. really exciting, i know.

the first (and probably biggest) update is about Jae and his company, Legend Landscaping and Lawn Care (yes, you should call us if you ever have any of those sort of needs!!) a couple of months ago, we invested in a brand spanking new enclosed trailer. since getting said trailer, Jae's truck was ridin mighty low haulin that thing around. it could do it, but it honestly made me so paranoid to have him out and about all over with that big thing hooked to his truck. so we decided a new truck was in order. plus, he's wanting to put a snow plow on his truck, and his F150 (which really was an awesome truck) just wasn't quite big enough to handle all this new fun. so last Friday, we invested in this beauty to add to the trailer beauty:

yes, it's big and bad. and noisy! it's an F350 turbo diesel. and i'll tell you what, that turbo isn't kiddin around! it has no problem haulin the trailer around, and doesn't sit on the ground while doing it, like the old truck did. welcome to the family, new truck and trailer! we'll have to come up with a new name for Jae's new baby...i'm open for suggestions.

in other news, i got (another) job! that's how it is. jae gets new toys, and i get more work. ha ha....just kidding. except not. so in addition to my full-time job at Primary Children's, i now am also the receptionist/office manager/desk person at a dance studio! i haven't danced since high school, and i just miss it sometimes! while i'm not exactly dancing, i'm at least in the environment of it again, and that's exciting! it's only a few days a week, and even in the summers, their classes are all in the evenings, so i can just leave from Primary's and go straight to the studio for a few hours. the bosses are awesome and i'm super excited. i think it'll be a fun thing. well. i hope it is anyway! less time to see my husband. but hey, a little extra cash is NEVER something to complain about. last day of training is today, first official day all by myself is next week! by the way, if you're interested, it's called Dancin' It Up, and it's in NSL. i'll let you know how it goes.....

i haven't really talked much about my healthy kick lately. maybe cuz the kick is getting lower and lower?? haha. i mostly stopped counting calories now. i think i did it long enough, i have the mindset about calories and how much should be portioned out for each meal, etc permanently stuck in my brain. i'm still constantly thinking about what i'm eating and how much and at what times, etc, so i think we're pretty good there. a couple of weeks ago, we had a super crazy-busy week. just lots of stuff like, every evening after work, which is my gym time. so for a week (actually, like 9 days i think) i never made it to the gym. not once. so last week, trying to get back was kind of awful. i struggled. i think i only went once? i finally went this past monday again, and can i just tell you, that run was the hardest run yet. i only lasted 20 minutes, and had a side-ache attack from you-know-where. wasn't very encouraging, to say the least. but i must keep trying! i was supposed to go last night, but was so dang tired from the week already, and haven't gotten much jae time lately, i opted to stay home and hang out with him. but today i MUST go. i must.

Jordan and Chelsea get married NEXT WEEK!! if you don't know, Jordan is Jae's brother. they've waited a good long while for this day, and i'm SO excited for them. i will most definitely post pics after that fun event. also, my good friend from WAAAYY back, Torrie, is also getting married next saturday (same day as jord and chels'). busy busy day! ohh and the lovely Laura (pretty much my little sister) is all grown up and getting married next friday, the day before the other two!! geez louiz, lots of fun things ahead. can't wait! so happy for all of you guys!!!!!!!

well, i think that's all for now, folks. jae's brother, Jesse, and his family are here for a couple weeks to visit (and for the other brother's wedding, of course). i'll make sure to take fun pictures of those boys to share. have a fabulous thursday and (almost) weekend, friends.

came & went

was yesterday really Easter?? man, this weekend seemed to fly by faster than they usually do. i realized, while looking at others' fun Easter weekend pictures, that Jae and i didn't even dye any eggs, or participate in any egg hunts or anything. what lame-o's we are!

late friday night, we bought a new truck! we traded in Jae's F150 for a ginormous F350 diesel. it's loud. anyway, then saturday morning, we were both up by 730am and just running all day after that. busy, busy day. my sister and her kids came over to my house saturday to dye eggs, but i barely had time to say hello and run out the door, much less actually hang out and participate. and jae was working, so he definitely didn't get in on any of the fun.

Sunday was a nice day, nontheless. Jae had to work again (boooo) but he did get off around 330pm instead of 5, so that was a little bit better than nothing, i suppose. i got to go to church and play fun Easter songs in primary and feel the beautiful Easter spirit in sac. meeting. we had dinner with my parents and headed up to my sister's for dessert and more Easter baskets. oh, which reminds me, the Easter bunny brought Jae and i hula-hoops this year along with our basket of goodies. awesome!

unfortunately, in all the rush of the weekend, i didn't take any pictures. i will post a pic or two of the big new beast (aka the new truck) soon...

swim fun

a little over a week ago, Jae and i took my sister and her family to the rec center for some swimming. (yes, it was awhile ago, i'm a bit behind on my blogging..) the kids were on spring break so they were able to extend bedtime later, so we thought it'd be a perfect time to get some playing time in.

River's favorite was standing up at the top, controlling the water and uncle Jae was a good sport and stood there for River to spray him. seriously. River spent almost the entire time up there.

we put these goggles on River's eyes, and he pushed them up onto his head like this all by himself, and then left them there the rest of the night. it was so cute haha!

i didn't get a picture of it, but this night happened to be the day it was blizzarding outside. it was pretty, but made us not ever want to leave the pool. here's to many more swimming trips when it's WARM outside.

food...sharks...fainting...just a normal tuesday night

a couple weeks ago i won some tickets to a movie premier for Soul Surfer (the one about the real-life surfer girl that got her arm bit off by a shark). Our fun friends Ashley and Ryan came with us.

Ryan felt the need to hide in every picture i took.

Ash was having some troubles with her food and drink. luckily, baby bump was there to catch it :)

during the movie, at pretty much the most intense part, where the shark attacks, someone yells 'call 911, call 911!' we were like huh?? someone in the audience, for reasons still not completely known, had passed out. maybe it was the blood in the movie, maybe she just wanted some attention?? who knows. actually, i'm pretty sure it wasn't to get attention, because when she came-to a few seconds later, she looked more mortified and embarrassed than anything. so they stopped the movie for a good 15 minutes while getting that woman escorted out. but then we had to wait longer while another woman a few rows back from the first, almost passed out. what the heck people?? get it together. we're trying to watch a movie here! finally they got the second woman escorted out by EMS, and they rewound the movie a bit and started it again. it was a good time!! thanks for coming, Green's!

hockey turned BANG!

so Jae and i invested in 'Salt Lake City Pass of All Passes' passes! in case you don't know, they include entrance to some Blaze, Grizzlies, and REAL games, as well as events at Rocky Mtn. Raceway, and a season pass to Seven Peaks (aka the old Raging Waters).

our friends the Ovesons and the Greens also invested in this pass, so we all decided to go to the last game of the Grizzlies games we are allowed to go to for free. well, long story, short, we didn't get in line til it was too late and all they had left by the time we got to the ticket window were single seats. none together. so we decided to bail. we went to Traning Table to grap some dinner, and then to the Greens to hang out.

we decided to play BANG!. it's a card game. none of us, (except ash and ry obviously), had played that game. so it was a learning experience. and we struggled. to say the least. but it was a way good time!! that game is pretty hilarious actually. if you know the game then you know what i'm talking about. super fun night with super fun friends. here are some randoms from the night:

what the dream???

a few nights ago i had a crazy-weird dream that i remembered most of by the time i woke up (i don't know about you, but that doesn't happen very often). i've told a couple people about it, so if you've heard it, then you get to hear it again:

i was pregnant. (of course - that seems to be a continuing theme lately and i really don't know why). instead of me having to take prenatal vitamins, Jae was supposed to take them. {so we're starting out weird already} anyway, we were going for an ultrasound, and i had a bad feeling about it for some reason. sure enough, the doc came in to tell us that our baby would be born with a cleft pallet (not sure how to spell that?) are cleft lips even visible on an ultrasound?? i don't even know. but it was in my dream. 

{so to continue the weirdness...} apparently Jae had forgotten or been lazy about taking his prenatal vitamins early on in my pregnancy and they guessed that's why she (yes, i remember it was going to be a girl) would have a cleft lip.

so pretty much the dream ended there. or at least my memory of it ended there. writing all of this out makes it sound even more ridiculous ha! what do these things mean??? maybe it's a lesson on how important prenatal vitamins are? maybe it means absolutely nothing, and it's all just by random chance that we dream some of the most random things. either way, there's my random dream for the week.

last weekend, jae was brave and went to the mall with me. i found these lovelies that i couldn't say no to... (and apparently jae couldn't say no to me!)

they're even better in person. and even better than that on my feet! but yes, they were bought for a reason, not just for the heck of it. if they don't work with a certain dress i ordered, i'll need to take them back. they weren't exactly cheap. *sigh* i love them.

i've really gotten into pearls in my older age. haha that just made me sound like 50 years old. but really, i used to never be a pearl kinda girl. but i've grown to LOVE pearls ever since i was in china and experienced the 'pearl market'. a wonderful place. anyway, these are a few of my pearl loves as of late:
