twentyfive randoms on a friday.

my cute friend emi wrote a list of 25 random fun facts about herself on her blog today, and told people to join in the fun. so this is me, joining in!

i make no promises to them being 'fun' facts, but here are 25 facts about me, nonetheless:

.1. my favorite colors (yes, more than one. can't narrow down) are purple and grey.
.2. bending and twisting my torso area is not getting any easier these days.
.3. friday = hair up in a bun on top of my head day. every.week.
.4. i like to paint my ring fingernail a different color than the rest of my nails.
.5. spring is my favorite season. while i do love fall, fall only leads to my least favorite season...winter. and summer is waaay better than winter. so spring is easily the best. got that?
.6. PINK from victoria's secret is in my top 3 favorite scents for ladies. i've used it since high school.
.7. ice water is my preferred beverage. anytime, anywhere. and no - no limes or lemons, thank you!
.8. i love to wear baseball caps. i used to wear them a lot more, and wish i wore them more now.
.9. ice cream (or froyo) is my favorite dessert. hands down.
.10. i love lists!!!
.11. both Jae and i love to travel to other countries. in the last 1.5 years, we've been to China, Malaysia, and Singapore. we have a HUGE list still to cross off. can't wait!
.12. one of my favorite childhood memories with my mom is blasting backstreet boys from the kitchen stereo (she liked them just as much as i did!) and cleaning the house together.
.13. i am right handed and stronger on my right side in general, but growing up dancing, my left side was always more flexible.
.14. i feel like a good baseball game on a sunny evening with a hot dog in hand is the best way to welcome in the summer. (and guess what we're doing tomorrow...??!)
.15. i'm a total daddy's girl. to this day, if something of significance is happening/has happened, i call and talk to him about it.
.16. i wish i could take care of every sweet puppy dog in the world. i hate to see them sad and without a good home.
.17. i play the organ (in church).
.18. i love taking showers but i hate the after-shower (aka doing my hair/make-up).
.19. i love target and i love/hate that we live 2 minutes from one.
.20. i've never broken a bone. (plenty of sprains, jammed fingers, displaced joints, stitches, but no brokens!)
.21. i can't watch a beautiful dance performance and not get teary. (oh how i miss dancing)
.22. i've been an aunt for 16 years.
.23. i have TMJ (aka jaw) problems. and if you have these problems too, then you know that it is just a huge dumb pain in my life!
.24. flip flops and tennis shoes are my favorite kinds of shoes. (but i don't discriminate - i love shoes of all kinds!)
.25. Jae's my favorite person ever! and Zoey's my favorite dog ever! (it's true - did you know?)

feeling ungrateful

after going back and reading over my last post about all the (not-so-great) happenings as of late, i've also been reading or hearing story after story about people and families who have been through truly trying and life-changing events. i feel like i'm complaining and stressing about the 'small stuff' when there are so many things to be grateful for and blessings i have that i'm overlooking.
and i'm not feeling so great about that.
it's time for a reality check...for myself.

i feel i need to redeem myself and remind myself how great life is. i don't have any real reasons to not be happy! i have a good job, Jae has a good job with great (flight!) benefits, and a good business that he works so hard at. yes, we both have some health issues that we'll deal with for the rest of our lives, but overall we have good health and good insurance. we both have a vehicle that gets us around. we have food in our kitchen (often thanks to our wonderful families).  we have plenty of clothes and shoes. we have our own house! that's much more than many can say.

we have our sweet (some days more devilish) little Zoey who gives such sweet snuggly kisses every morning. when i'm kissing Jae goodbye, without fail, she sneaks her little puppy face right up between us. i think she gets jealous and wants in on the loves too. she's a stinker who i always catch dragging my shoes out of my closet and pulling under the bed so she can chew on them, but she's so so sweet and i just love her and am so glad she's around to make our house more exciting!

both Jae and i have amazing, fun, supportive families that do so much for us all the time. we have so many friends and family we can rely on and go to if needed. for anything. seriously, they're so awesome and generous. we are surrounded by good, good people.

among the many many other blessings and great things in my life, i have my Jae. lately i feel like we've both been so busy with everything and so exhausted from being so busy, the few minutes we actually get to see eachother and spend time together that when we do, we're both grumpy and stressed (ok maybe me more than Jae) and easily annoyed. and we take it out on eachother. (ok once again - probably more me than Jae). and i hate when it's like that! he's the one person that i want to see at the end of every day, but he's also the one i take for granted. it's weird how that happens. but even in those grumpy, frustrating times, i know how hard he works and how much he cares. i can't imagine life without him. i am one lucky girl.

here's to taking a step back and enjoying all the good things in life. like the sunny 75 degree weather we'll be having this weekend in utah.
xoxo.

{just a few of my favorite times with my favorite people to remind
me how great life is. yes, you may have seen some of these photos before.}

addicted to the greek

i have never been a yogurt person.
i've tried and tried.
i've wanted to like yogurt.
it's a handy, easy snack, not to mention much healthier than other snack food options.
but more often than not, i just can't choke it down.
something about the slimy, gooey, half-between-a-liquid, half-between-a-solid food.
nope. can't do it.

until i met Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt.

it is HEAVENLY people.
seriously, anyone else have the yogurt eating problem?
you must try this kind!

it is a thicker consistency, so it doesn't give you the yucky, too runny feeling going down your throat.
it's got a slightly more tart taste than regular yogurt, but not too tart at all.

my favorite flavor-styles?
vanilla, key lime, strawberry, raspberry.
{note: do NOT get the 'fruit on the bottom' ones...no bueno}

it.is.sooo.good.

where were you all my life, oikos greek yogurt??
i'm sure some of you think i'm totally off my rocker by now, but i just can't help it.
i love it that much.
many people i work with love it too (these are people that have always been yogurt haters like me), and they eat it every day!

best part?
it's fat free.

no, i didn't get offered any cash and/or yogurt reward for doing this post.
which means yes, i am a freak who did just willingly do a post entirely devoted to my new discovery.

happy mid-week my friends.
now go try the yogurt.

{best deal is at walmart - $1/each. you're welcome.}
