guilty

so after reading a few blogs this morning, many of which belong to moms of one or two or three children, who have busy busy lives (much more than mine, i'm sure) and they've blogged multiple times since the last time i've blogged, i feel a bit of guilt creeping in. we were out of towners last weekend, and then birthdays, and then trying to recover from being out of towners, and then jae's work schedule was all changed this past weekend, and now here it's monday again already. long story, short, all of those excuses = i haven't blogged and i need to!! i will. i promise. love you all.

count dracula

so remember how i told you i've been trying to count calories?

i know it's good and i'm glad i'm doing it, and frankly the counting part itself is real easy (the computer does it...), but it's not so fun to see the numbers when they turn red.

red means bad.

yesterday the numbers turned red. oopsie!

guess i better start doing more to actually work those calories back off eh?

there's a novel idea.

a lil something for my lover on this valentine's day...
"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake... A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life..."

-Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)
(i stole this little lovely from Whitney who stole it from someone else :) thanks for sharing ladies)

love you jae!! thanks for being my soul mate :)

a steal of a deal

i stole this lovely quote from a friends blog. she got it from a book she recently read. i have no idea what the book is about (other than what torrie wrote about it on her blog post) but this little excerpt struck me as interesting. so thanks torrie!!

"This is what I know: We are all a story unto ourselves, never possibly described with one word or even very accurately with thousands. A person is never as quiet or unrestrained as they seem, or as bad or as good, as vulnerable or as strong, as sweet or as feisty; we are thickly-layered, page lying upon page, behind simple covers. And love--it is not the book itself, but the binding. It can rip us apart or hold us together."

happy friday folks :)

numbers

so jae and i have really been trying to figure out ways/find foods that are healthier for us than a lot of our current habits.

i was randomly web-browsing yesterday for a calorie counter, and came across a website that you can set up an account for what is basically a food and fitness journal for yourself. you plug in your current weight and height, the weight that you'd like to get to, and it'll calculate what your caloric intake should be on a daily basis to get to that goal weight. you just put in the food you eat, it spits out the calories, and keeps track of what you're eating as well as any exercise you do and how many calories you burned! this may be old news to many of you, but this whole calorie counting business is a new thing for me. i've never tried it before, and i really want to, but i don't know how many calories are in things, so i don't really know how to calorie count accurately, so this does it for me!! and it's all free. you can also track if you're drinking all the H2O you're supposed to daily (which i'm pretty awesome at most days, may i add!)

sooo...yesterday was day 1. i was doing pretty good (especially not knowing at the beginning of the day when i got my food together to take to work that i would be starting my calorie counting!), but by dinner i went a bit over my allotted calorie amount for the day. but i figured that was ok since it was the first day and i'm just starting and learning all the right foods and such, so i'm giving myself through this weekend to get at a cozy spot under what my intake should be. today is day 2. so far, so good. we'll see how well i'm really doing by dinnertime though :)

i'll keep you updated on the progress, but not every day. that'd be boring. wish me luck!!!!!! oh, and if you have any advice or suggestions, i'll welcome them happily.

re-confirmation

is that even a word? re-confirmation? i don't think so. but a funny story...

so jae and i are trying to be super good with our money and not spend too much on much of anything! we're mad savers and debt-pay-offers these days. hence...

i texted jae this: 'what are we doing as far as presents for our birthdays?'

jae replied: 'um i'm not sure. what do you want to do? shoes? or should we put a limit on how much? or what?'

can i just tell you how happy it made me that he suggested we get shoes for eachother for our birthdays? we are RIDICULOUS!! i (and obviously he would, too) be totally content with going shoe shopping with my honey for our birthday presents, and being done with it. i love shoes. so does my husband. shoe love is true love :)

ladies night in

the guys decided to have a man's night out tonight.

so while they ate burgers the size of their faces, i went to hang out with my bestie Leslie and her beauty of a baby girl Izzie. it's crazy how different our lives are now compared to just a couple years ago.

thanks for letting me come play, Les & Izzie  :)  love you

souper sunday!

last sunday, we got a few friends together at the green household for a soup & salad dinner. it's been FOREVER since we've had all of us together, so it was a good reminder of the fun friends we have and how we need to get together more often! don't we all say that ALL the time??

the lovelies, stacia & mary (stacia lives in ND, hence we finally got together while she's here)

the whole group!

all the women (including Lisa's baby girl Camry)

THANKS FOR THE GOOD TIMES, FRIENDS!!

a little PC buzzzz

a couple of weeks ago, Jae and i met a couple of Jae's friends up at Park City to join all the crazy flocking birds of people and celebrity-stalk. it actually wasn't too cold until the last 20 minutes or so. and then i was miserably unhappy and wet and cold. BUT we did see a few peeps before we left. and here are a couple of the pics......

Maria Menounos (and crazy stalker that was wearing a shirt that said 'celebrity's love me'...also, he 'proposed' to her with a ring pop. poor girl...

Danny Glover. he was looking kinda old, i must say.

about 10 seconds before this pic was taken, jae had the best moment of his life. the man standing in the middle of this crowd of people, who's back you can see, is 50 Cent. THEE 50 Cent!! we happened to be RIGHT outside his huge black Mercedes van when both him and Floyd 'Money' Mayweather walked out. of course, the camera battery died at that moment and jae was too flustered with 50 Cent saying 'hey, what's up' to him, he couldn't get his phone out to take a pic haha. i finally got the camera to turn on long enough to take a pic as he was walking up the stairs. still, jae's life is now complete.
for those of you that are Bachelor/Bachelorette fans, we also ran into Kypton and Tenley! i did get a picture with them, but i'm sorry. i look too awful in the pic (not just because i'm standing next to gorgeous Tenley) to post it. but i do have it, i promise :) good times! well, cold times.
