bummer

i have a good job.

it's normal monday-friday hours. it's totally flexible (sort of). it pays more than any job i've ever had. i really can't complain.

but i am complaining. i'm bored with it. is that horrible to say? i'm not meant to sit at a desk all day and not be more around people.

so i applied for another job last week. this job is still here in primary children's, just downstairs a couple floors. it'd still be normal hours. perhaps (a lot) more interaction with people than my current job. a very decent pay increase. something i really think i could do and enjoy, at least more than my current situation. while i didn't really get too excited about this job i applied for, i was kinda hoping, deep down, that maybe something would come of it. i even talked to the woman who currently has that job.

well. i got the email this morning. no new job for me. i feel a little more sad about it than i expected. but everything happens for a reason, right? guess i'm where i'm supposed to be, for now.

still...bummer.

rolls upon rolls

Jae's mom gave us a giftcard to Texas Roadhouse for our anniversary, so we used it the other night. can i just say that i LOVE their rolls??? i could eat basket after basket of them, and be completely content. until next time, Texas Roadhouse rolls...

baby Isabel - 1.12.11

i cannot believe so many people are having babies!! and not just their first baby, but their second or third! blows my mind. miss Leslie is one of my besties, so it's extra fun that she just had her first baby, little Isabel Susanne :) she's so adorable and looks EXACTLY like her daddy, Troy. i mean exactly!

8 lbs 2 oz 20.5" long

so much dark hair!

congrats again to Leslie & Troy. she really is a beauty.

jazzin it up

part of Jae's anniversary present was tickets to a Jazz game! we went to the Jazz vs. New York Knick's game this past wednesday. the Jazz have been struggling a bit lately, so we were hoping not to be disappointed. and the Jazz came through! it was a good game. and being on the 19th row wasn't too shabby either :)

that's mr. Al Jefferson shootin. he's one of my new favs

our friends mary & vince came with us

good times!

the big numero ONE!

jae and i celebrated our FIRST anniversary on January 7th, 2011. it's weird - i can't decide whether it went by quickly or seems like it's been much longer than that. a little of both, i guess. anyway, it's been the best year of my life, and i cannot wait for many more to come.

i got out of the shower, walked into our room, & found this sweet lil surprise waiting for me on our bed. of course, i immediately started crying my eyes out.

Jae had written me the sweetest note and got me a gift card to my favorite - Coldstone!

and we were off! Jae didn't know any of our plans (it was my year to plan!) so he was a bit confused...

we went to lunch at Thaifoon, one of jae's favs, and i tried this yummyness: honey walnut chicken. delish!

we love Thaifoon!

we then went to see 'True Grit'. good movie! i didn't take any pics of us at the theatre, so here's jae holding our tickets haha
after the movie, we ran home, packed our bags, and drove up to Park City for the night. we stayed in a lovely little condo at the Treasue Mountain Inn at the top of Main street.

we love our sushi, so we went to Flying Sumo for a late dinner. oh man, it was delicious. their rolls are bigger & much more filling. needlesstosay, we were STUFFED to the brim.

two of our fav rolls - Vegas & Playboy

the hotel had a rather large jacuzzi and it happened to be right outside our door! perfect. and there wasn't anyone else in it, so once again, perfect :)

the next morning, we SLEPT IN! it was fabulous. then we got ourselves ready and had breakfast at Callaway's Morning Ray Cafe. i'm sorry for all the random food pics, but we ate such good food all weekend! this was honestly one of the best breakfasts i've EVER had. soooo good.

packin up and heading to the outlets

strolling down Main Street

after a full afternoon of shopping at the outlets, we came home to try some of our wedding cake and cheesecake! we had a BIG ole piece. i don't know why we saved so much?

chocolate raspberry swirl with cream cheese frosting. it was actually pretty tasty after a whole year! the cheesecake...not so much :(

it was a most fabulous weekend! jae's the best thing that every happened to me, and i'm so happy i get to spend the rest of forever with him. LOVE YOU JAE!!!!!

an oldie, but a goodie

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

it's time for a major update! it's been too long. can you handle this overload??....

we spent 2 weekends in dec. house sitting for friends. one weekend was spent with these rambunctious puppies, Milo & Bella. they love Jae. can you tell by all the smothering?

Milo giving Jae loves by leaning on his face :)

the second weekend was spent at our friends, the Miller's, with this sweet lil boy Sam (there were 3 other kids too). Sam & Jae were BFF's by the end of the weekend!

we went bowling for one of Jae's work parties.

jae's a bowling machine!! can't you see it in his eyes?

we celebrated my bro-in-law Tyler's birthday. this cake was MASSIVELY thick and solid. Jae couldn't even finish his piece. and that's sayin somethin.

making & decorating sugar cookies with the kiddos! hana, momma susan, zack, and clara.

milo, momma kellie, river (who mostly just licked frosting off his knife, i think) and quinnie.

clara's fancy cookies. she's so cute :)

how ridiculously cute it River's face?? love that little puckered smile.

pretty much don't mess with jae while he's decorating his cookies.

hana, clara, jae. the girls kept asking jae if he'd learned to smile yet. haha. i have no idea why they'd ask him that??... ;)

my mom's cat Griffin (aka my niece hana's griffy) found a new, perfectly shaped bed!

Kenzie came home for the holidays!! enjoying some hang out time at Paradise, yumm

of course, we spent some time downtown, enjoying the pretty christmas lights at temple square!
